Why do I need a website, I've been in business for years; never needed one before.

A brief letter from the President of Small Sites.

I am sure the first time a store merchant was approached to have a telephone connected to his business the same question came up.  Now, no one can imagine having a business without a telephone line or two.  As a business owner you realize the importances of having a telephone so you can communicate with your customers.  You certainly can't go go to everyone's home or place of business every time they have a question, that is where the telephone comes into play.  The same thing could be said of a website.  According to "Internet World Stats", over 72 percent of the United States is using the Internet.  Those are amazing numbers, you need to be in front of those people.

Still not sure?  Think of the website as your best customer service representative.  It never gives the wrong information, it never has a bad day, so it will never be "snippy" with your clients or your customers.  It never calls in sick, and it never promises more than you want it to.  It is the perfect complement to your business.  Quite frankly, you can't afford to be on the phone all day telling people where you are, and what your hours are.  That is where a website becomes imperative to the operation of your business.  In this day and age, it is exactly like having a telephone.  People do not ask if you have a telephone number for your business, they EXPECT you to have a telephone.  The same is happening with websites.

I am sure you have been embarrassed once or twice by someone asking for your website address only to have those word come out of your mouth..."er...I, ah...don't have one".  Then you hear this pause in their voice as they say something like, "oh".  People expect you to have a website.  If you have a front door or provide a service,  it is time you have a website.

Look, we know you don't have a lot of money, nobody does, this economy is hitting everyone pretty hard.  That is why we keep costs low.  You don't need to spend 10's of thousands of dollars to have a good looking website, but you do need a website.

Please allow us to help you.  Again, explore our site, and let us know if you have any questions.  We look forward to working with you soon.

Warmest regards,

Chris Murphy
